  • The Brief

    Under the aegis of architecture critic Herbert Muschamp, the New York Times asked VanDam to join a powerhouse group of architects including Richard Meier, Charles Gwathmey, Rem Koolhaas, Fred Schwartz, Todd Williams, and Bernard Tschumi to propose an alternative to the six plans put forward by government officials for Lower Manhattan.

    A visualization of the Fred Schwartz's plan to mend the urban fabric in Lower Manhattan by moving 16 acres of the World Trade Center downtown and reassembling it along 16 acres of the West Side Hwy.
